Well here we are!!! Nearly at the end of term. I have finished the first assessment in 'Managing Work Priorities' and handed it in. Thank goodness. I hope it was alright. We have got one project to do that I think we have to do in groups but we haven't been told yet.
We have 'Write Simple Docs" this afternoon and we have an assessment to hand in. I have completed that so I am very happy. It involved 9 tasks and we had to write every one of them in draft form first before typing them on the computer.
I have nearly completed the first assessment for 'Customer Service'. I have 1 more question to finish which I will do tonight and then I should be able to hand that in at the end of the week. It will be such a relief to finally finish it. Then I will have to do the customer service report.
We learnt about KPI's or key performance indicators in class today and I found that very interesting. I had heard about them but I didnt know it could relate to our studies.

Only 3 and a half weeks
Only three and a half weeks to go till end of term. It's a bit scary but I think I am on track. I am finding the hardest portfolios to do are for customer service, communicate electronically and organise work priorities.
The five year work plan I am finding very difficult because I don't usually plan that far ahead. I don't really plan to have a career, just a job that I enjoy doing. My family have always been my first priority but now they are reaching the stage that they do not need me as much anymore, I need to start and think of myself.
Today we have looked at Microsoft Outlook and worked on a case study. Thankfully that was a very easy to do.

Half way through Term 1
Another week has passed and we are now half way through term 1. This means only another 4 and a half weeks to go till all the assessments are due.
I am finding it so hard to keep up with some of the classes. The word documents, myob and excel classes I am doing ok with because we just work through the books and there isn't much homework. We get most of the assessments done in class. The write simple documents class I am finding the work is easy enough but I find getting the words down from my head to the paper a challenging thing to do at the moment. We also have lots of homework to do that is not assessment work. We have to write everything down as a draft and then type it up on the computer. We haven't even got to the assessments yet!! We do spelling tests which I enjoy doing .
With the customer service assessments I am also finding these challenging. I know the stuff because I have been doing it for many years but again it is getting the words on the page.
The long weekend I spent so much time doing homework and assessments that I didn't get much time with the family or even household chores. I am particular finding that I have trouble fitting in other things into my schedule like chores and a social life.
Today we did a good exercise involving us calculating the hours in our week to find out what we are doing and what is more important. I found it hard to work out where my 168 hours a week go to but I think it was a very good exercise to do.
I have found it hard to work on my 5 year work plan because I don't usually plan that far in advance. I do like to plan and be organised and it is important when you have a family. With my childs health never being very good it has always been hard to organise too far ahead. You never know what is going to happen. My husband is always complaining about the lists that I like to write but I find that if I don't then things get forgotten. I am not sure how to do the 5 year plan. Should it be in a table or just written out.
